Partindo de uma construção existente, foi nosso objectivo criar um objecto arquitectónico que claramente se destaca-se da restante envolvente, quer pelo seu material de cor clara quer pela forma como “pousa” no existente, assumindo o protagonismo que a própria localização permite.

O objecto arquitectónico proposto faz a ponte entre o "antigo" e o "novo", entre o "hoje" e o "amanhã", assumindo claramente o desfasamento temporal e cultural existente entre os dois momentos do projecto, a pré-existência e a proposta, e atribuindo desta forma um caracter mais contemporâneo ao inicio da Avenida Egas Moniz.

Adoptando uma volumetria semelhante as habitações contíguas, a proposta cria duas habitações geminadas do tipo T3, inovando na forma como as duas fracções se relacionam uma com a outra e as duas com a Avenida. Ao invés da tradicional situação de esquerdo / direito em que cada uma das moradias tem forçosamente vistas diferenciadas da paisagem envolvente, neste caso oferecemos aos requerentes a possibilidades de em qualquer uma das fracções desfrutar da mesma paisagem. Esta situação é possível através do cruzamento das duas fracções dispondo a zona privada de uma das fracções sobre a zona publica da outra e vice-versa. Desta forma damos uma complexidade adicional a um programa base pedido pelos requerentes.

Starting from an existing construction, our goal was to create an architectural object that clearly stands out from the rest surroundind area, either by its light-colored material or the way it "lands" in existing construction assuming the leading role that the location itself allows.

The proposed architectural object is the bridge between "old" and "new" between the "Today" and "tomorrow", clearly assuming the temporal and cultural gap between the two phases of the project, the pre-existence and the proposal, and thus giving a more contemporary character to the beginning of Avenida Egas Moniz.

Adopting a similar volumetric as the adjacent dwellings, the proposal creates two semi-detached dwellings of type T3, innovating in the way the two fractions are related to one another and the two with the Avenue. Instead of the traditional position of left / right, in that, each of the houses necessarily have different views of the surrounding landscape, in this case offer applicants opportunities in any of the units enjoy the same landscape. This is possible through the intersection of two installments featuring the private area of one of the fractions on the public area of the other and vice versa. Thus we give an additional complexity to a program on request by the applicants.
